Lori's Bio
Hi! Thanks for visiting my page!
I am Lori Ciesla from Lopatcong, the Republican candidate for Warren County Freeholder. I have been a resident of the County since 1999, when my husband and I moved here with our two kids. Both of my children are Lopatcong Middle School and Phillipsburg High School graduates.
I majored in Finance with a Paralegal minor at Montclair State, and my background is mainly in the Financial Industry. I worked in banking while in college, and then in commercial insurance. I went to programming school through work and became a developer in 1999. My main job was to improve efficiencies while also maintaining compliance with the multitudes of state and federal agencies involved in overseeing insurance. I am now a Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager running projects that use the latest technologies.
I come from a family of volunteers - my dad as a Navy veteran and fireman and my mom in our church. When my kids were younger, I focused my time on their world, in the PTA, youth sports, and our church. When they got older, I ran and was elected to serve on Lopatcong Council. While on council:
-
I helped restart the Recreation Committee, which I still Chair.
-
Helped create Lopatcong’s Economic Development Advisory Committee from the outdated Industrial Commission.
-
Ordered a Master Plan review in order to support the desires of our community to have smart growth.
-
Used the EDAC to help promote existing businesses.
-
Completed major sewer system upgrades.
-
Helped facilitate roadway improvements for the new high school so it could open on time.
-
Created our social media program, enhanced our website, increased our use of technology, began recording our meetings for YouTube, and increased transparency across the board.
On the County level.
-
I was a County appointee to the Phillipsburg Library Commission.
-
I served on the MCCTFC Municipal and Charitable Conservancy Trust Fund Committee, granting funds for many open space and historical restoration projects all over the County.
-
I currently serve on the Addiction Task Force with Freeholder Sarnoski to help fight the addiction epidemic. One outcome from our Task Force has been the new Addiction Counseling degree at WCCC.
-
I am also on the Technology and Transparency Task Force with Freeholder Kern. Our goal is to bring the same level of technology and transparency that our hometowns of Pohat and Lopat have championed over the years. We are currently upgrading the County's website, and I was able to obtain a discount from our website vendor for any town in Warren County that wishes to upgrade their website, too.
We have a great, affordable way of living here in Warren County that should be preserved and enhanced appropriately, and I will do all I can as a Freeholder to make sure it stays that way. I am running to serve all residents from Hardwick to Pohatcong and to make sure the County is providing the best services possible to all in our community.
I truly feel experience matters, and my professional experience combined with my public service experience will allow me to hit the ground running at full speed, keenly aware of what I can and cannot do in the role of Freeholder. and will help me maximize our human capital and financial resources for the betterment of all.
